Itinerary

Day 1

ARRIVAL IN OSAKA & CHERRY BLOSSOM EVENING

Arrive at Kansai International Airport (KIX) and complete immigration and customs formalities. Meet the local representative and proceed by private vehicle to the Osaka hotel. After check-in, guests will have time to freshen up and relax after the journey.

At approximately 4:00 PM, assemble in the hotel lobby and meet the English-speaking local guide. Proceed by private vehicle towards the Umeda district, Osaka’s modern commercial centre. Enjoy the city views from the Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory, with elevator access available, avoiding unnecessary walking wherever possible. The observatory offers excellent panoramic views over Osaka and, during cherry blossom season, beautiful seasonal views across the city.

Continue by private vehicle towards the Kema Sakuranomiya area for a comfortable cherry-blossom viewing experience. Instead of undertaking the long riverside promenade, the group will stop at accessible viewpoints where guests can enjoy the cherry blossoms and take photographs without walking long distances.

Later, proceed to an Indian restaurant for a relaxed welcome dinner. After dinner, return by private vehicle to the hotel.

Highlight: Panoramic Osaka skyline views from Umeda Sky Building followed by a comfortable cherry-blossom viewing experience along the Okawa River area.

Senior Pro-Tip: The itinerary is designed so that the vehicle is used as much as possible for point-to-point transfers.

Meals: Dinner
Overnight: Osaka

Day 2

OSAKA CHERRY BLOSSOMS & ICONIC CITY VIEWS

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. At approximately 11:00 AM, meet the guide and depart by private vehicle for the day’s cherry-blossom sightseeing.

Proceed to Osaka Castle Park. For the senior group, the visit will focus on the most accessible viewpoints around the castle rather than walking through the extensive park or Nishinomaru Garden. Guests can enjoy spectacular views of Osaka Castle framed by seasonal cherry blossoms, with the vehicle dropping the group as close as practical to the photography area.

Continue towards the Okawa River and Kema Sakuranomiya area. Instead of the original long riverside walk, enjoy the cherry blossoms from selected accessible viewpoints and bridges where possible. A short optional river cruise may be considered, subject to operation and availability, as it allows guests to enjoy the seasonal scenery comfortably while seated.

The Osaka Mint Bureau Sakura Tunnel, which involves a lengthy 560-metre walking route, will be excluded for this senior-citizen itinerary. If the seasonal area is open and a suitable alternative viewing point is available, the guide may recommend a short, accessible photo stop instead.

Later, proceed by private vehicle to Dotonbori. Guests will enjoy a comfortable photo stop around the famous canal and Glico Man sign rather than undertaking a lengthy walk through Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. The colourful neon scenery provides excellent photographs without requiring extensive walking.

Dinner will be served at an Indian restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Highlight: Osaka Castle cherry blossoms, seasonal riverside scenery and the famous Dotonbori neon district, all experienced at an easy pace.

Senior Pro-Tip: The Tour Manager & the guide will identify the closest practical drop-off and pick-up points to reduce walking.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Osaka

Day 3

NARA HIGHLIGHTS & ARRIVAL IN KYOTO

After a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart towards Nara by private vehicle. Upon arrival, enjoy a comfortable visit to the Nara Deer Park area. Rather than walking deep into the extensive park, the vehicle will stop at a convenient access point for guests to view and photograph the famous free-roaming deer.

The original itinerary’s visit to Tōdai-ji Temple will be adapted for the senior group. Guests who are comfortable with walking may visit the accessible sections, while others may enjoy the exterior and surrounding scenery from a convenient viewpoint. The group will not be rushed into areas requiring substantial walking or stairs.

Continue by private vehicle towards Kyoto. After check-in and a short rest, proceed for an easy-paced evening sightseeing experience.

Instead of walking the full Philosopher’s Path, which is approximately 2 km long, enjoy a short cherry-blossom photo stop at an accessible section or viewpoint. Continue towards Maruyama Park/Yasaka area, where the guide will select the most accessible point for viewing the famous illuminated weeping cherry tree without requiring a long walk through the park.

Proceed towards Gion Shirakawa for a brief photo stop around the traditional canal area. Guests may remain close to the vehicle while enjoying the atmospheric Kyoto streetscape and cherry blossoms.

Later, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel.

Highlight: Nara’s famous deer followed by a relaxed Kyoto evening surrounded by traditional architecture and cherry blossoms.

Senior Pro-Tip: We will not attempt to cover the complete Philosopher’s Path or extensively explore the Nara and Gion areas on foot. The quality of the experience is more important than the number of steps.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Kyoto

Day 4

KYOTO HERITAGE & CHERRY BLOSSOM HIGHLIGHTS

After breakfast, depart by private vehicle for Kyoto’s iconic heritage sights. Begin with Kinkaku-ji – the Golden Pavilion, one of Kyoto’s most recognisable landmarks. The visit will focus on the main accessible viewing area and the spectacular golden pavilion reflected in the pond. Guests will not be required to cover the complete temple grounds.

Continue towards Ryoan-ji only if the access conditions are comfortable for the group. Otherwise, the visit may be replaced with an exterior/photo stop to avoid unnecessary walking and steps.

Proceed by private vehicle to Arashiyama. The original long walk through the Bamboo Grove will be excluded for the 60+ group. Instead, guests will enjoy a comfortable photo stop at the accessible approach to the bamboo area and surrounding Arashiyama scenery.

The Tenryu-ji Temple and Garden walking visit will also be omitted as it requires considerable movement through the grounds. Instead, continue to the Togetsukyo Bridge and Katsura River area for a scenic photo stop from the most accessible roadside/viewpoint available.

Later, proceed to Nijo Castle for an exterior/photo experience and, subject to the group’s comfort and accessibility on the day, a limited visit to the most convenient section. Guests will not be expected to undertake an extensive castle-ground walk.

The evening will be kept relaxed, followed by dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the Kyoto hotel.

Highlight: Golden Pavilion, Arashiyama scenery and the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge, experienced without the long walking normally associated with Kyoto sightseeing.

Senior Pro-Tip: Kyoto’s heritage attractions can involve uneven stone paths and steps. Stay with the guide.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Kyoto

Day 5

KYOTO TO HIROSHIMA & MIYAJIMA

Enjoy an early breakfast and check out from the Kyoto hotel. Proceed to Kyoto Station and board the Bullet Train to Hiroshima.

Upon arrival in Hiroshima, meet the driver and proceed by private vehicle to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The original extensive walking programme will be modified. Guests will enjoy selected accessible viewpoints of the Atomic Bomb Dome and the surrounding Peace Memorial area without undertaking a lengthy walk through the entire park.

The Peace Memorial Museum may be visited by guests who are comfortable with the indoor walking involved; alternatively, the group may enjoy the outdoor memorial area and proceed at a relaxed pace.

Continue by private vehicle to Miyajimaguchi and board the ferry to Miyajima Island. On arrival, the sightseeing will focus on the most accessible areas near the ferry arrival zone. Guests can enjoy views and photographs of the famous Itsukushima Shrine and floating Torii Gate, subject to tide and visibility, without undertaking a long island walk.

The original extended visit to Omotesando shopping street will be avoided, as it involves considerable walking and can become crowded. Guests may enjoy a short local photo stop or simply relax around the accessible waterfront area.

Return by ferry to the mainland and proceed to Hiroshima for dinner. After dinner, check in and relax at the hotel.

Highlight: Bullet Train experience, Hiroshima’s historic landmarks and the spectacular floating Torii Gate of Miyajima.

Senior Pro-Tip:  Comfortable footwear and a small day bag are recommended.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Hiroshima

Day 6

HIROSHIMA TO TOKYO & MODERN TOKYO

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Hiroshima Station for the Bullet Train to Tokyo.

Upon arrival in Tokyo, meet the private vehicle and proceed for a comfortable half-day Tokyo experience. The original TeamLab Borderless/TeamLab Planets visit is removed from the senior itinerary because these experiences generally involve substantial walking and standing, and the group may find the immersive layouts tiring.

Instead, proceed towards Shibuya for an iconic Tokyo experience. Enjoy a comfortable photo stop overlooking Shibuya Crossing, followed by a short visit to the famous Hachiko Statue from the most convenient accessible point. There is no need to walk through the entire shopping district.

The group will then proceed for an early Indian dinner before returning by private vehicle to the Tokyo hotel.

Highlight: Experience the modern energy of Tokyo with Shibuya Crossing and the famous Hachiko landmark without extensive shopping or walking.

Senior Pro-Tip: Tokyo is extremely busy around Shibuya. Stay together as a group and avoid crossing multiple streets or exploring the shopping arcades on foot.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Tokyo

Day 7

MOUNT FUJI & HAKONE SCENIC EXPERIENCE

After breakfast, depart by private vehicle towards the Fuji Five Lakes region. The day is designed around scenic viewpoints where guests can enjoy Mount Fuji without undertaking lengthy walks.

Begin with Lake Kawaguchi, one of the most beautiful locations for views of Mount Fuji. The vehicle will stop at a convenient lakeside viewpoint, allowing guests to photograph Fuji and the surrounding seasonal scenery without walking along the entire waterfront.

Continue towards Oishi Park only for a short and convenient photo stop. Guests do not need to walk through the entire park.

Proceed towards Lake Yamanakako, another beautiful location for Mount Fuji views. Enjoy the scenery from accessible viewpoints close to the vehicle.

Continue to Hakone for a scenic Lake Ashi Cruise. The cruise provides a comfortable seated experience and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. If conditions are clear, Mount Fuji may also be visible.

The original Hakone Ropeway/Ōwakudani visit will be made optional depending on the group’s mobility and operating conditions, as the interchange points and sightseeing areas can involve walking. If included, only the most accessible section will be covered, with no requirement to explore the volcanic area extensively.

Enjoy dinner en route and return to Tokyo by approximately 8:00 PM.

Highlight: Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Yamanakako and the relaxing Lake Ashi cruise.

Senior Pro-Tip: Carry a light jacket even during spring. Mountain temperatures can be considerably cooler, and the best Fuji views often require waiting comfortably at a viewpoint rather than walking around.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Tokyo

Day 8

TOKYO CHERRY BLOSSOMS, SKYTREE & ICONIC PHOTO STOPS

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for a relaxed final sightseeing day in Tokyo.

Instead of undertaking extensive walking inside Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, the group will enjoy a short, accessible cherry-blossom viewing/photo stop at a suitable entrance or alternative nearby viewpoint. The objective is to enjoy the seasonal atmosphere without covering the large garden on foot.

Continue to the Sumida River Cherry Blossom Cruise, one of the most comfortable ways for senior travellers to experience Tokyo’s spring scenery. Guests can remain seated while enjoying cherry trees, bridges and views of Tokyo’s skyline from the water.

Proceed to Tokyo Skytree, where high-speed elevators provide convenient access to the observation deck. Enjoy panoramic views across Tokyo from above without extensive walking. Guests may spend time seated at the observation area before returning to the vehicle.

Continue to Asakusa for a short exterior/photo stop around the iconic Kaminarimon Gate and Senso-ji Temple. The original extended walk through Nakamise Street and the temple complex will be avoided. Guests can photograph the famous red lantern and traditional Tokyo architecture from the most convenient accessible location.

Finally, proceed to Akihabara for a comfortable panoramic/photo drive and a short stop at a suitable accessible point to experience Tokyo’s famous anime, gaming and electronics district. There will be no requirement to explore the extensive shopping streets on foot.

Enjoy an Indian dinner and return to the hotel for the final overnight stay in Tokyo.

Highlight: Sumida River cherry blossoms, Tokyo Skytree panoramic views, Asakusa’s iconic Kaminarimon Gate and the neon atmosphere of Akihabara.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Tokyo

Day 9

DEPARTURE FROM TOKYO

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and complete check-out at approximately 11:00 AM. Guests may use the available time to relax at the hotel or enjoy a very short nearby photo stop, subject to flight timing and the hotel’s location.

Proceed by private vehicle to the airport for the departure flight. Assistance will be provided with luggage and airport transfer arrangements.

The Japan journey concludes with memorable experiences of cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Osaka and modern Tokyo — all planned at a comfortable pace suitable for senior travellers.

Highlight: A relaxed departure with private airport transfer and no unnecessary last-minute sightseeing.
