Day 1

Arrival to Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Transfer to Guba region. Guba is located on the north-eastern flanks of hills of the Shahdag mountain belonging to the Greater Caucasus mountains at the altitude of 600m above sea level on the bank of Gudial river at the distance of 168 km from Baku. Due to the favorable location and rich infrastructure Guba district is one of the favorite tourist destinations. Many architectural monuments are preserved in the vicinity of the city: the Juma mosque, the mausoleum of the XVI century, Sakina – Khanum mosque, ancient baths. Also Guba is a recognized center of carpet weaving. Local people believe that traditional Guba carpets Chichi, Ag Gul, Pirabadil are the best in Azerbaijan. At the time Guba was visited by the famous French writer Alexander Dumas, writer Bestuzhev – Marlinskiy, the famous Norwegian scientist and traveler Thor Heyerdahl.

15:00 Trip to mud volcanoes. The route initially passes across the semidesert and steppe territory, continues to the foothills of Greater Caucasus, and will come to the end in the thick of mud volcanoes. In the territory of the Azerbaijan since 1810 till present from 50 volcanoes about 200 eruptions are recorded. The international competition of the Swiss non-profit organization "Seven Miracles of the Nature" mud volcanoes of Azerbaijan have taken the 5th place. And on September 15, 2004 the largest mud volcano in the world located in the territory of Azerbaijan was included into the Guinness Book of Records. Volcanoes are presented in all the greatness and a variety on morphology and a form of manifestation here (acting, gone out, petroallocating, island). Among them there are many beautiful, imposing volcanoes, with fancy languages of outpouring of dirt and large coastal volcanoes.

Day 4

10:00 Following the breakfast at the hotel we will head to the Old city to explore the UNESCO Heritage site. The ancient heart of Baku is Icheri Sheher, a magical maze of narrow lanes and alleyways that’s still mostly ringed by battlement-topped defensive walls erected in the 12th-century. Built on a site inhabited since the Paleolithic period, this old city core reveals evidence of Zoroastrian, Sasanian, Arabic, Persian, Shirvani and Ottoman presence. During the tour, you will discover traditional mosques with calligraphic facades, old hamams, merchants’ houses and charming trading streets made all the more colourful with quirky little art galleries and carpet shops. You’ll climb the mysterious Maiden Tower (Giz Galasy), a unique stone structure whose purpose is as unknown as its construction date – possibly as early as the 6th-century BC. And to finish off, you’ll explore the 15th-century Shirvanshahs’ Palace, once home to the noble dynasty under which Baku had its first major period of historical brilliance.

14:30 Visit to Highland Park located on a hill. Highland Park has the best view from a high, vantage viewing point offering panoramic views across the city. This is also the best spot to take photos with the fascinating Flame Towers. From the Highland Park, we take you on the ride on the capital’s Funicular down to the Seaside Boulevard. Baku’s funicular, which became operational in 1960, was reopened after renovation and repair in 2012.

Day 5

Azerbaijan is one of the few places on earth, where you can find the preserved elements of the cult of fire and the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism. These places, where oil runs out of the ground and natural gas breaks through with burning torches, always attracted fire worshipers from all over the world. Baku, its oil, "burning earth", has been known far beyond its borders since ancient times. In the written sources of the Middle Ages, related to Baku, it is consistently mentioned about “eternal lights”, located in it’s vicinity.
10:00 After the breakfast we start from bus trip to Yanar Dag, also known as ‘Burning Mountain’ to enjoy the sunset and warmth of the mountain. True to its name, the mountain has been burning for as long as anyone can remember, and the fire isn’t showing signs of going out any time soon. Situated on the Absheron Peninsula, 25 kilometers northeast of the capital city of Baku, Yanar Dag is a 116-meter hill located on top of a pocket of natural gas that constantly erupts into flames.
11:30 Visit to Ateshgah Fire Temple is located in the southeastern suburb of Surakhani village on Absheron Peninsula. There was a sanctuary of Zoroastrian fire-worshipers, who came here to bow to sacred fire. It is assumed that this first shrine dates to the beginning of the Common Era.

Day 6

Gabala is the region with picturesque nature,where you can rest with your mind and soul. Being the former capital of Caucasian Albania this region has rich and exciting history.

14:00 We start city tour from two-hour program on the cable car with 8 stops,from the top to the top

Day 7

Sheki is one of the most ancient towns of Azerbaijan, it is located on the picturesque slopes of the Great Caucasus Mountains.
10:00 Transfer to Sheki after breakfast at hotel
11:30 The excursion starts with a visit to the Palace of Sheki Khans (1762) astonishing building with, and then it continues to Shebeke (traditional art) work shop, passing by the round Albanian church (V century), an ancient two-stored Caravanserai (XVIII century).

16:00 The guests will visit the Museum of history, the Albanian church in Kish village (I-II centuries), where the famous Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl has repeatedly researched, as evidenced here by the mounted bust of the traveler. This church is considered to be the first in the whole Caucasian Region and was built in the memory of St. Elisaeus.

19:00 Return to Gabala
